Help for greasy pans

by Donna Rammo
(Halifax NS Canada)

Greasy fry pans seem to take so much precious water to get them degreased and clean again when camping.

If you sprinkle ordinary table salt in that pan and rub well, it "lifts" and holds that grease when you dump the salt.
Next use a small amount of soapy water and wash, then a small amount of rinse water.
You will find that much less water is needed and the pan feels and is much cleaner.
I use this on cast iron fry pans but would not use on non-stick of course.
