Morro Bay California is RV-friendly
(Montana to Baja)
Beautiful surfing town Morro Bay on the central coast of California has public indoor showers as well as beach showers. Maybe because they welcome surfers who overnight, the town overlooks RVers in many quiet city lots. I have no idea if it's official policy but we dropped many bucks on restaurants, retail, groceries and gas over a week because of the ease of staying there.
Marianne's Reply: It is indeed a lovely town with some great eateries and gift shops. Watching the amazing surfers ride huge waves from the parking area beside Morro Rock was a treat! We stayed in the Marina Parking Lot where signage was good.(I believe it was 72-hour-parking) but we did think we needed to be stealthy. We did ask the next day, and found out that the "official town policy" is no overnight RV parking in any town parking lots (retail businesses included). There was some overnight street parking on residential streets but it was all quite unlevel (the parking spots slope into the sidewalk). We could have corrected it with levelers but we wanted to be less obvious.
