Beware

We just imported a new travel trailer into Ontario. We discovered at Service Ontario that we need to get an empty weight certificate, which means we have to get our brand new trailer weighed. Which is ridiculous. The empty weight is on the sticker inside the trailer but apparently its not good enough. The trailer is small only 18 feet and weights 3400lbs.

Has anyone else experienced this? They say its because the unloaded weight is not on the Ohio title they gave us.

Not Unusual

Several states require a weight certificate to register an RV. I know Texas and South Dakota do but both of them will also accept the original manufacturer's brochure listed weight instead. I got a brochure off Ebay for my old RV since I live in my RV so getting true dry weight without all my stuff in it is not possible.

Thanks for the Heads Up!

I've not heard of this but thanks for mentioning it. If there is an option to have the weight listed on the title, I guess purchasers should be aware of it and ensure that it's there.
