Check out rest areas for free dump station/waterr

(Port Charlotte, FL)

We just got back from 6 month RV trip from FLA on I10 to San Diego up the Pacific Coast to Seattle and back across to South Dakota and than down to FLA. We found many states (WA, SD, even parts of GA) that have free dump stations and potable water. Anyone boondocking knows that solves your problems for a while so you can then head back to the BLMs, Wally-Worlds, casinos or even side streets of cities. Just check at the visitor centers of the states you're heading to and see what they offer (or google it!)

Calf has a number of rest stops on the 99 and the 5 where you can dump for free. Just look at rest stop signs and they show you where.

I'm so envious
by: Susan & Peter

Wow, my dream trip! We talk about 6 months on that exact route, except we'd start & end in NYS, and probably go counter-clockwise: go the northern route to the NW first, then down the coast to San Diego (where we have family), then east... Someday!

I'd love to hear about your favorite places, esp. boondocking sites in the Southeast, where we are heading for in a couple of weeks (only 3 months).
